Why our customers love us
When I enrolled in the Advanced Diploma in Nursing at IIHS, my dream at the time was to be a Registered Nurse in Australia. IIHS uplifts the professional status of nurses in Sri Lanka and the region by providing quality academic delivery through with the most advanced and up to date methods. I was provided the opportunity to complete many research projects which provided me the opportunity to present at the International Council of Nurses Conference (2017) in Spain and the 13th International Congress on Nursing Informatics in Geneva. I never believed that I would be presented with such academic openings and the guidance I have received from the staff at IIHS has been humbling. Upon completing my 3 year Advanced Diploma in General Nursing program at IIHS I was selected as the Most Outstanding Student of IIHS in 2017. Due to my achievements IIHS, I received the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship (50% Scholarship) which provide an immense financial relief for me when I completed my 1 year Bachelors in Nursing Degree at Deakin University Australia. I currently work as a Registered Nurse and I am completing my Honours year at Deakin University. I am also a recipient of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honour Society of Nursing (Sigma) which is awarded to high achievers in their graduating class
As an alumni of IIHS, I graduated from Coventry University with a Masters in Physiotherapy. The Advanced Diploma in Physiotherapy offered by IIHS guided me into the direction of research where I learnt the fine art of linking theory to current evidence based practice. To date, I have presented at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Conference (United Kingdom), World Confederation for Physical Therapy Conference (South Africa 2017 and Singapore 2015) and the Annual Global Health Conference (Singapore). Additionally, my research was selected to be presented in 2015 at the research conference by Sri Lanka Medical Association. My research subsequently was highlighted and published in numerous IIHS journals and I hope my work has inspired fellow students. I chose the Coventry University pathway following the IIHS Advanced Diploma in Physiotherapy program as the pathway offered me a Masters in Physiotherapy directly. Furthermore, my British qualification and interest in research has opened opportunities for me. At the age of 22 I received a world recognized Masters and I thanks IIHS for the opportunity
After completed my A/Ls in biology stream from S. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia, I was searching for a degree to reach my ultimate dream to work as a research scientist in an international research facility. At my first discussion with IIHS, they informed me about the pathway to university of Canberra, Australia to complete my degree in biomedical sciences and at that moment I realized my true potential and how far I could actually go with the career which I have chosen. With the information they provided about the course contents and the degree I found that University of Canberra offers one of the best Biomedical Science Degrees in the world with vast range of major subjects and electives that target various areas of the science. During my time at IIHS I presented my research at Kings College London which increased my interest to further my academics in research. My learnings at IIHS paved a pathway to complete Bachelors in BioMedical Science at the University of Canberra, Australia. I am currently preparing to graduate from University of Canberra and I know the opportunities for BioMedical Scientists are immense in Australia.
I began my nursing career as an Enrolled Nurse after pursuing the IIHS- TAFE SA (South Australia) pathway. Since graduating from the diploma, I have worked in Stroke Rehabilitation and Vascular Surgical unit gaining a valuable clinical exposure in my career for the past three years. Consequently, my higher studies in the Bachelor of Nursing at the Flinders University paved the pathway to being a Registered Nurse and I am currently employed as a graduate nurse at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. My career in nursing enabled me to establish well in Australia and lay the foundation to achieve my dreams. This year I became an Australian citizen and hope to continue my professional life here in this beautiful nation
